We are only Finnish manufacturer of coated fabrics

We are the only Finnish manufacturer of high-quality coated fabrics in Finland. Our factory and office are located in Sorsasalo, Kuopio, near the Kalla Brigdes, within a stone’s throw from the city centre.

Our local production and in-stock product range enable smooth cooperation and a quick response to our customers’ needs.

Many customers value Finnish-made products, as they see them as a guarantee of quality and reliability. Domestic production also strenghtens Finnish employment, and our factory and office currently employ around 50 people.

A wide selection of coated fabrics for various applications

We have a wide selection of coated fabrics for our customers’ applications. They are suitable for applications such as buildings, screens and curtains, inflatable boats, oil containment booms, chemical containers and airtight structures, covers as well as doors for indoor and outdoor use.

We coat both woven and knitted fabrics with PVC, PVC-PU-blends and TPU. The surface of the fabric can be finished with either an acrylic-based or a PVDF-based lacquer.

The application always determines the fabrics’ technical qualities. Our fabrics are available with qualities such as fire resistance, special UV protection, light transmission, good cold resistance, chemical resistance, as well as electrical conductivity.

Due to our calendaring technigue, we can manufacture fully airtight and gastight fabrics. Every fabric we produce is also available phthalate-free.

Our stock selection comprises over 50 different fabrics, most of them available in multiple colors, which guarantees quick and reliable delivery of our products.

Specialty fabrics for even the most demanding conditions

In addition to our stock products, our selection includes specialty fabrics for even the most demanding conditions. The materials are exceptionally resistant to extreme conditions from the freezing cold of the North to the scorching heatwaves of the South. Uncompromising UV and mildew protection ensures long-lasting durability for years to come. Many of our specialty fabrics, designed specifically for harsh environments, are available exlusively from us at Scantarp.

We have received special recognition for our excellent mesh materials and high-quality military-grade fabrics. Our customers have told us that their end products are specifically requested to be made using Scantarp materials.

Minimizing raw material loss and saving natural resources are important aspects of our environmental efforts and product development. Our environmental goals follow ISO 14001 and are set annually.

As part of the environmental work, we have developed ScanECO made from 100% recycled materials. The raw material for the base fabric is made from recycled plastic bottles, and the PVC mass is derived from excess masses accumulating during our owrn production.
